My very first entry
Dec. 19th, 2024 11:17 amI just discovered this site today. It's one of those days where you are searching for a specific question, and stumble upon a blog, wondering, 'Wow, what is this?'
It’s been very interesting, hopping from other people’s journals here and there. Their lives are curious, in both wonderful and concerning ways. I will attempt to make mine readable, though aesthetic choices tend to tempt me from time to time.
What will I use this for? Well, I do have quite a few ideas:

It’s been very interesting, hopping from other people’s journals here and there. Their lives are curious, in both wonderful and concerning ways. I will attempt to make mine readable, though aesthetic choices tend to tempt me from time to time.
What will I use this for? Well, I do have quite a few ideas:
- Art/writing journal
- I want to keep a record of my art and writing, to see my progress over time as I study more concepts. Furthermore, it would be fun seeing my original characters develop and change. Sometime I beat myself down for not being good enough, but seeing my creations out there makes me feel happy and accomplished. Making design that others are interested in and love instills a sense of pride within me.
- Self-improvement log
- For nearly as long as I can recall, I have suffered from mental issues, primarily depression as resultant of severe emotional neglect in my early childhood. I wish to enjoy life and live it the fullest everyday. I want to look forward to the next day and feel that sense of joy as I continue to move closer towards my goals - after all, it is about the journey and not the destination. To fill my life with colour, a million memories mending the emptiness of my heart. The vast loneliness that roots in myself will be cut down and replaced with a will to live.
- I will do this by making myself accountable for my goals, day by day, week by week. I have a tendency to overestimate what I can do in a day, and underestimate what I can do in a week. Self reflection is the most powerful.
- Book/movie reviews + games & fandom stuff
- When I record the media I have consumed, my memories grow stronger. My sense of existence grows more meaningful and I can connect with others better, fostering that feeling of being part of a community. Subsequently, as I consume more ideas, my mind becomes more expansive and open. I have a personality, a life, and I must remind myself of that.
- Miscellaneous happenings of my life
- Often I forget. I forget about my accomplishments, the happy events that have occurred. The little things slip by, and it piles up into a mound of what is perceived as nothingness to me. But that isn't true. Every day I live through accumulates into the curious existence called 'my life', just like how the salt and pepper of a simple stew. (A quote I do still remember, albeit not fully.)

Some people like recurring posts to organize a blog with multiple topics. Frex, you might designate one day for art and another for writing, and then readers would know to check for that thing on that day.
>>I want to keep a record of my art and writing, to see my progress over time as I study more concepts.<<
Go for it! Both of those are popular topics on this platform. See Art communities and Writing communities.
>> Furthermore, it would be fun seeing my original characters develop and change.<<
Tracking can be very useful.
>> Sometime I beat myself down for not being good enough, but seeing my creations out there makes me feel happy and accomplished. Making design that others are interested in and love instills a sense of pride within me. <<
Remember that if you finish a thing, you're ahead of all the people who didn't get that far.
>>For nearly as long as I can recall, I have suffered from mental issues, primarily depression as resultant of severe emotional neglect in my early childhood.<<
Alas! A lot of people talk about that kind of stuff here. Some have it on a special filter, or make their blog friends only.
>>To fill my life with colour, a million memories mending the emptiness of my heart.<<
Good plan.
>> I will do this by making myself accountable for my goals, day by day, week by week. I have a tendency to overestimate what I can do in a day, and underestimate what I can do in a week. Self reflection is the most powerful. <<
For structured objectives,
If that gets overwhelming, consider the Just One Thing posts on
>>When I record the media I have consumed, my memories grow stronger. My sense of existence grows more meaningful and I can connect with others better, fostering that feeling of being part of a community. Subsequently, as I consume more ideas, my mind becomes more expansive and open. <<
That's good progress. There are lots of communities for fandom and reviews and such. You might also like the Fannish 50 challenge.
>> Often I forget. I forget about my accomplishments <<
Oh yeah. I never realized how much I've gotten done until I try to catch up someone else on it. Keeping a goals list helps, because I can see how many I've already met.
